Rules & Regulations
- Policies-General for all age groups
- Every student will be given an ID card. For attending dance classes, bringing ID card is mandatory.
- Please come to class in proper dance attire as per the policy of the academy. During admission, the same will be intimated to all.
- For all, hair should be neatly groomed for class and all performances and for girls, all hair must be pulled back in either a ponytail or bun.
- Hair fads are not permitted.
- Label all shoes, dance bags, belongings, etc with the student’s name.
- Use the restroom before class. During classes, going to the restroom is not allowed until it is an emergency.
- No jewelry is allowed as it can be harmful to the student.
- No street shoes are allowed on the dance floor. Use Dance shoes, socks, or bare feet only.
- No gum or food is allowed inside the academy.
- Water is only allowed in the dance area; water breaks will be given by the instructor.
- Please inform the instructor of any previous dance injuries and take a class at your own risk.
- Dance is a physical activity with a risk of injury. Though proper care will be taken by the instructors, the coordinator and instructors will not be held responsible for injury occurring while attempting dance activity.
- Calcutta Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen valuables.
- Selected music for class and performance pieces will always be clean and age-appropriate.
- Dance education is hands-on and is learned by seeing and feeling the correct alignment by the instructors manipulation.
- Calcutta Dance Academy has a zero-tolerance bullying policy. In a group dance session, a student must take care that for his/ her behavior, other students must not suffer/ effected. No sexual harassment/ or any kind of harassment is permissible. Violation of this policy will result in withdrawal from classes and may be charged with appropriate legal proceedings if required.
- Students are not allowed to exchange phone numbers with their instructors.
- Calcutta Dance Academy has the right to close due to inclement weather.
- If anyone would like to schedule a make-up for class cancellations, he/ she needs to speak with his/her instructor.
- Any kind of damage to the property of the Academy is strictly prohibited and should be compensated suitably by the students.
- The entire area of the academy is under the surveillance of CCTV. Students are requested to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations.
- Policies-For Children
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please be on time when dropping off and picking up your child. The instructors/ academy are not responsible for students before or after their class.
- For all classes, parents are asked to sit in the waiting area while their child’s class is being conducted.
- During group dance sessions, parents/ guardians are not allowed inside the classroom.
- Once in a quarter, parents/ guardians will be allowed only to observe the class.
- Parents/ guardians are not allowed to instruct teachers/ instructors.
- Children leaving with an adult other than a parent must inform the teacher at drop-off.
- Make sure your child is not left unattended in the waiting room for any reason.
- Do not drop your child off more than 10 minutes before the start of class.
- Policies-For Special Needs Children
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please be on time when dropping off and picking up your child. The instructors/ academy are not responsible for students before or after their class.
- For all classes, parents are asked to sit inside the classroom.
- Parents/ guardians are not allowed to instruct teachers/ instructors.
- Make sure your child is not left unattended in the waiting room for any reason.
- Do not drop your child off more than 10 minutes before the start of class.
- Attendance
- Attendance is important in order to receive the best dance education possible.
- Please contact or inform your child's instructor or the office when a class will be missed.
- Students should arrive at class early in order to prepare for class physically and mentally. This also allows the instructor to start class on time.
- If a class is missed due to health issues, upon submission of the Doctor's certificate/ prescription, make-up classes can be scheduled in a different session. This must be done within 4 weeks of the missed class. Please speak with your instructor to decide which class would be best and schedule the class with the office.
- Class cancellation due to weather will not be made up by the instructor. If you would like to make up the class you can schedule a make up class during our regular weekly classes. Please check our website for updates on cancelled classes at least an hour before your child's class.
- Tuition Payments and Additional Fees
- A Registration Fee is due at the time of registration, INR 500/- for an individual and is non-refundable. The Registration Fee guarantees placement for the class chosen. Once a class has been filled, the class will be closed.
- Monthly fees are to be paid as per the scheduled fee of the Academy. Fees are to be paid by the first class of every month.
- Separate fees will be collected for annual shows. Participation in annual shows is mandatory.
- Costumes will be purchased for our annual program if required. This costume fee is non-refundable.
- Payment will be accepted by cash or debit/ credit card.
- For annual functions, separate fees will be charged and will be intimated before every annual function.
